Józef H. Przytycki
Professor of Mathematics, George Washington University
I have been a professor at George Washington University since 1995. I received my Masters Degree from the University of Warsaw in 1977 and my PhD from Columbia University, where I was advised by Joan Birman.
I since have advised 16 students of my own, who have gone on to various careers in math and beyond.

Throughout my employment at GWU, I have also organized the Knots in Washington conference series alongside my students. Knots in Washington allows knot theorists a space to present their current research and collaborate.
