Dark Skies 2025

Join us along with Richard Darn (Dark Skies UK) for a journey into the cosmos as part of the Yorkshire Dales Dark Sky Fringe Festival.
Given clear skies we’ll have telescopes at the ready to spy wonders like Saturn and a half moon over in the west, plus a treasure strove of other heavenly sights. The event will include a relaxing walk to a suitable viewing site and even if the weather doesn’t co-operate, we’ll use a special planetarium programme inside to reveal the wonder of the night sky.

Useful Information
- The Dark Skies event will take place on Thursday 30 October 7.30 – 9.30pm
- The cost is £20.00 per person.
- The introduction will start outside the Village Shop and Post Office at 7:30pm.
- Please park in Bolton Abbey Village car park.
- Parking is free of charge on the evening of the event with a valid ticket.
- A complimentary car park ticket is included with each booking.
- The car park will be open from 7pm for ticket holders.
- All levels of interest and experience are very welcome.
- Children are welcome.
- Sturdy boots and water proof clothing are highly recommended, as is insect repellent.
- The route is suitable for wheelchairs, however access to the inside space is not possible
- Assistance dogs only.
