How can the arts make a difference to displaced communities?

We are building a sandbox to explore the therapeutic benefits of arts based interventions in reducing loneliness, increasing social connection, cultivating community, promoting resilience, and supporting overall health and wellness. By simultaneously directly servicing participants and facilitating research on our programming, we benefit the broader field, increasing the scope of our impact.

Our
Three-Pronged Approach

International
Missions

An annual mission to work with displaced communities in regions around the globe. Bringing therapeutic arts programming to refugee camps and settlements, working directly with displaced communities, and training local aid staff in arts practices to promote mental health.

Local Initiatives

Ongoing workshops servicing asylum seekers in NYC throughout the course of the year, providing spaces for displaced persons to come together with fellow refugees, engage in arts based therapeutic programming, receive mental health support, and cultivate connection, creativity, and community.

Research

Partnering with universities to develop research initiatives on our programs, advancing the broader arts and mental health field.
