On May 13, 2020, Intelsat S.A. and certain of its subsidiaries (collectively, the “Company”) filed voluntary Chapter 11 petitions in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, Richmond Division. The cases are pending before the Honorable Keith L. Phillips and are being jointly administered under Case No. 20-32299.

On December 16, 2021, the Company received Court Approval of its Plan of Reorganization , which was supported by all creditor groups.

On February 23, 2022, the Effective Date of the Plan, Intelsat successfully emerged from its financial restructuring as a private company with a substantially strengthened capital structure to support its growth as the leader in satellite communications.

With its debt reduced by more than half, nearly $7 billion in new financing, and supported by new equity owners, Intelsat is now best positioned for long-term success as it continues to innovate and bring new services to market.

On May 31, 2024, a final decree closing the Chapter 11 cases was entered.
