European titles submitted for the Oscars race

My Late Summer by Danis Tanović

With the 97th Academy Awards ceremony scheduled to take place in Hollywood on 2 March 2025, European countries are starting to reveal their titles submitted for the Best International Feature Film Award.

For this edition, submitted films must have been released in their respective countries between the dates of 1 November 2023 and 30 September 2024, and the deadline for submissions is 14 November. Fifteen finalists will be selected from the total number of submissions and announced on 17 December, before the Academy whittles that number down to five, which it will announce as the final nominees on 17 January 2025, alongside the nominees for the rest of the categories.

Last year, a total of 88 submissions were accepted, and 38 came from a European country. The UK's submission, Jonathan Glazer's The Zone of Interest [+see also:
