Deutsch: Die Geheime Staatspolizei, auch kurz Gestapo genannt, war ein kriminalpolizeilicher Behördenapparat und die politische Polizei in der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus (1933–1945).

English: The gestapo (contraction of geheime Staatspolizei: "Secret State Police") was the official secret police of Nazi Germany. Under the overall administration of the Schutzstaffel (SS), it was administered by the Reichssicherheitshauptamt (RSHA) ("head office of the Reich's security service") and was considered a dual organization of the Sicherheitsdienst (SD) ("security service") and also a suboffice of the Sicherheitspolizei (SIPO) ("security police").

Čeština: Gestapo (zkratka z geheime Staatspolizei: „Tajná státní policie“) byla oficiální tajná policie nacistického Německa. Pod celkovou správou Schutzstaffel (SS) ji spravoval Reichssicherheitshauptamt (RSHA) („ústředí říšské bezpečnostní služby“) a byla považována za dvojí organizaci Sicherheitsdienstu (SD) („bezpečnostní služba“) a zároveň za pobočku Sicherheitspolizei (SIPO) („bezpečnostní policie“).
