English: A Green Card, also called a Permanent Residence Card or I-551, is a United States government card that identifies a person as a lawful permanent resident of the United States of America. The color of the card was green from 1946 to 1964, and has been green again since 2010. It was formerly called an I-151, Alien Registration Card, or Alien Registration Receipt Card.
