Description

English: Luis Velez, left, and John Radzikowski set up a AN/TPQ-48 Lightweight Counter Mortar Radar (LCMR) for testing at Tobyhanna Army Depot, PA. There are three versions of the radar in use today: V1, V2 and V3. $2.5 million Live-Fire Test Simulator is used to test the LCMR's. This chamber accurately simulates mortar and artillery fire in an electronic environment, eliminating the need to perform actual live-fire testing. Tobyhanna Army Depot is the largest full-service Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) maintenance and logistics support facility in the Department of Defense. Employees repair, overhaul and fabricate electronics systems and components, from tactical field radios to the ground terminals for the defense satellite communications network.
