Description

Nederlands: Een portret van de bloemstillevenschilder Jan van Huysum met palet en penselen in de linkerhand en een tekening van een bloeiende plant in zijn rechterhand. De schilder leunt tegen een balustrade waarop twee tekeningen liggen, de bovenste van een landschap. Van Huysum is gekleed in een wit, open onderhemd met daaroverheen een lila met geel gevoerd hemd. Een dieppaarse mantel is half om zijn schouders geslagen. Hij draagt een lange, wit bepoederde pruik. De schilder is naar links gekeerd maar kijkt naar rechts het beeld uit. Links een dieprood gordijn.
