Deutsch: Als Côte d’Azur (deutsch azurblaue Küste, auch Französische Riviera genannt) wird das Teilstück der französischen Mittelmeerküste bezeichnet, das sich von der italienischen Grenze im Osten bis etwa Toulon im Westen erstreckt. Die Ausdehnung der Côte d’Azur ist im französischen Lexikon („Petit Robert“, „Petit Larousse“) festgelegt und erstreckt sich von Cassis (bei Marseille) bis Menton an der Grenze zu Italien.

English: The French Riviera (locally Côte d’Azur) is a natural and cultural region, part of France’s South Eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea, reaching from Toulon to Menton at the border with Italy, and covers the coastal area of French departments of Var and Alpes-Maritimes (within the French administrative region [Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur]]), as well the territory of the principality of Monaco.
