Wild Elephinks - Popeye the Sailor Man (1933) Renewed
The Fire Alarm - Looney Tunes 91936) Renewed
Hiawatha's Rabbit Hunt - Looney Tunes (1941) Renewed
Tin Pan Alley Cats - Looney Tunes (1943) Renewed
Bugs Bunny Nips the Nips - Looney Tunes (1944) Renewed
She-Sick Sailors - Popeye the Sailor Man (1944) Renewed
The Loose Nut - Woody Woodpecker (1945) Renewed
Lumber Jerks - Looney Tunes (1955) No Renewal Found but I don't think you can upload this. This short is a derivative featuring Goofy Gophers who are still under copyright with their first appearance in the renewed The Goofy Gophers. However, this seems to be in-notice for 1946. So even though that short premiered in 1947 this earlier notice means it enters the public domain in 2042 instead of 2043. SDudley (talk) 21:29, 15 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
A thorough response and excellent help SDudley. -- Ooligan (talk) 18:31, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You provided links above to cards with copyright renewal information. Here: [1] User talk:SDudley#animations short films copyright renewals Can you please provide a link to the search page, if any, to find these by title or for other search parameters. Thank you, -- Ooligan (talk) 18:28, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

How do you mean? These cards come from the Virtual Card Catalog. There is no permanent link I can send for the search query since the copyright office website doesn't work that way.
The best I can do is record a video showing how I do it if you'd like to see.

If you willing to make video when you have time- that would be great. -- Ooligan (talk) 20:36, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Here you go!

Thank you very much. I will watch it again and apply this knowledge to help me research copyright renewals. I'm sure other volunteers will enjoy it as well. Best regards, -- Ooligan (talk) 03:52, 23 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

For this! JuxtaposedJacob (talk) | :) | he/him | 09:00, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I deleted the films, but are the screenshots OK? Aren't they derivative works of the film? Thanks, Yann (talk) 19:35, 9 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I think the issue is not with the imagery but retelling the story. The film is not copyrighted but the story it is based on is. See It’s A Wonderful Life for a similar situation. SDudley (talk) 20:26, 9 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
