Royal Guard
"The Royal guards are Leoric's bannermen, loyal even in death."
The Royal Guard was part of the forces in service to King Leoric of Khanduras.
During the Darkening of Tristram, as per the king's orders, Chancellor Eamon ordered the guard to fill the Caverns of Araneae with spiders,[1] in order to seal off the caves and prevent access to the king's manor.[2]
Years after Leoric's death, royal guardsmen remained in service to their king as undead thralls.[3] A number of them escaped the Mad King's Breach, and threatened the living within Ashwold Cemetery. The Ashwold Guard requested aid from Westmarch to deal with them.[4]

The Royal Guard appear as skeleton enemies in Diablo Immortal. They include the baseline Royal Guard monster, the Royal Spearman, and Royal Shieldbearer
