Municipal Drinking Water Treatment by the CARIX Ion Exchange Process
Abstract
The CARIX ion exchange process has been applied in municipal water treatment for the combined reduction of hardness, nitrate, and sulfate concentrations. The performance of two plants demonstrates that a considerable improvement of water quality is easily achieved. CARIX has proved to be a reliable process which allows a non-polluting partial demineralization of drinking water. Results and costs are discussed in detail.
