variants with their own articles =The EasyJet EcoJet is a proposed short-haul aircraft that would be more environmentally friendly than current generation jets. The EcoJet would reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 50%, nitrogen oxide emissions by 75%, and noise pollution by 25% versus current Boeing 737 standards. The EcoJet will feature new Propfan Engines which will allow for these efficiency increases. EasyJet hopes to have its ecoJet in the air by 2015.
Design
The EcoJet will be built mostly out of Carbon Fiber composites. Due to the large diameter of the engines, fitting them under the wing was not an option, so the two engines will mounted on the rear of the aircraft on pylons, also the tail will be flat with diagonal upward projections on the sides functioning as the horizontal stabilizers.
