LRT Jakarta Fare to be Valid per December 1

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Light Rail Transit as the operator of LRT Jakarta announced that the train's normal tariff will be valid per December 1, 2019. This will mark the end of the trial run of the newly-built public transportation.
“PT LRT is ready for commercial operation,” said the corporate’s spokesperson Melisa Suciati in a written statement, Thursday, November 21.
Melisa said the train fare is set at Rp5,000 for a one-way trip without the limit distance. Each passenger can purchase a ticket at the ticket booth or use electronic money, such as Jak Lingko, JakCard, Brizzi, Tap Cash, Flazz, and eMoney.
The train will be operational daily starting from 05:30 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. With the 5.8-kilometer route, the train will serve six stations, namely Pegangsaan Dua Station, Boulevard Utara Station, Boulevard Selatan Station, Pulomas Station, Equestrian Station, and Velodrome Station.
Melisa mentioned that the total passengers using urban transportation during the trial run, which was kicked off in June 2019, reached over 1 million.
“Ahead of the commercial operation, PT LRT holds dissemination, publication, and collaboration to boost public awareness and public interest to use mass transportation,” she added.
LRT Jakarta's first line, Corridor I, connecting Velodrome to Kelapa Gading had undergone the trial run since last June. The train operation was initially scheduled to serve the passengers during the 2018 Asian Games.
