Andean-Saharan glaciation

The Andean-Saharan glaciation, also known as the Early Paleozoic Ice Age (EPIA), the Early Paleozoic Icehouse, the Late Ordovician glaciation, the end-Ordovician glaciation, or the Hirnantian glaciation, occurred during the Paleozoic from approximately 460 Ma to around 420 Ma, during the Late Ordovician and the Silurian period.

See Acacus Sandstone and Andean-Saharan glaciation

Bertie Formation

The Bertie Group or Bertie Limestone, also referred to as the Bertie Dolomite and the Bertie Formation, is an upper Silurian (Pridoli, or Cayugan) geologic group and Lagerstätte in southern Ontario, Canada, and western New York State, United States. Acacus Sandstone and Bertie Formation are Shallow marine deposits.

See Acacus Sandstone and Bertie Formation

Carcinosoma

Carcinosoma (meaning "crab body") is a genus of eurypterid, an extinct group of aquatic arthropods.

See Acacus Sandstone and Carcinosoma

Cruziana

Cruziana is a trace fossil (fossil records of lifeforms' movement, rather than of the lifeforms themselves) consisting of elongate, bilobed, approximately bilaterally symmetrical burrows, usually preserved along bedding planes, with a sculpture of repeated striations that are mostly oblique to the long dimension.

See Acacus Sandstone and Cruziana

Fish Bed Formation

The Fish Bed Formation is a geologic formation in Scotland, United Kingdom. Acacus Sandstone and Fish Bed Formation are Sandstone formations and Shale formations.

See Acacus Sandstone and Fish Bed Formation

Fossil

A fossil (from Classical Latin) is any preserved remains, impression, or trace of any once-living thing from a past geological age.

See Acacus Sandstone and Fossil

Fossilworks

Fossilworks is a portal which provides query, download, and analysis tools to facilitate access to the Paleobiology Database, a large relational database assembled by hundreds of paleontologists from around the world.

See Acacus Sandstone and Fossilworks

Geologic time scale

The geologic time scale or geological time scale (GTS) is a representation of time based on the rock record of Earth.

See Acacus Sandstone and Geologic time scale

Geological formation

A geological formation, or simply formation, is a body of rock having a consistent set of physical characteristics (lithology) that distinguishes it from adjacent bodies of rock, and which occupies a particular position in the layers of rock exposed in a geographical region (the stratigraphic column).

See Acacus Sandstone and Geological formation

Ghat District

Ghat (Berber: Ɣat; غات) is one of the districts of Libya. Acacus Sandstone and Ghat District are Fezzan.

See Acacus Sandstone and Ghat District

Libyan Desert

The Libyan Desert (not to be confused with the Libyan Sahara) is a geographical region filling the northeastern Sahara Desert, from eastern Libya to the Western Desert of Egypt and far northwestern Sudan.

See Acacus Sandstone and Libyan Desert

Lipeón Formation

The Lipeón Formation is a Telychian to Pridoli geologic formation of southern Bolivia and northwestern Argentina. Acacus Sandstone and Lipeón Formation are Sandstone formations and Shallow marine deposits.

See Acacus Sandstone and Lipeón Formation

Llandovery Epoch

In the geological timescale, the Llandovery Epoch (from 443.8 ± 1.5 million years ago to 433.4 ± 0.8 million years ago) occurred at the beginning of the Silurian Period.

See Acacus Sandstone and Llandovery Epoch

Mollusca

Mollusca is the second-largest phylum of invertebrate animals, after Arthropoda; members are known as molluscs or mollusks.

See Acacus Sandstone and Mollusca

Pterygotus

Pterygotus is a genus of giant predatory eurypterid, a group of extinct aquatic arthropods.

See Acacus Sandstone and Pterygotus

Rusophycus

Rusophycus is an ichnogenus of trace fossil (fossil records of lifeforms' movement, rather than of the lifeforms themselves) allied to Cruziana.

See Acacus Sandstone and Rusophycus

Sandstone

Sandstone is a clastic sedimentary rock composed mainly of sand-sized (0.0625 to 2 mm) silicate grains, cemented together by another mineral.

See Acacus Sandstone and Sandstone

Shale

Shale is a fine-grained, clastic sedimentary rock formed from mud that is a mix of flakes of clay minerals (hydrous aluminium phyllosilicates, e.g. kaolin, Al2Si2O5(OH)4) and tiny fragments (silt-sized particles) of other minerals, especially quartz and calcite.

See Acacus Sandstone and Shale

Silurian

The Silurian is a geologic period and system spanning 24.6 million years from the end of the Ordovician Period, at million years ago (Mya), to the beginning of the Devonian Period, Mya.

See Acacus Sandstone and Silurian

Soom Shale

The Soom Shale is a member of the Late Ordovician (Hirnantian) Cederberg Formation (Table Mountain Group) in South Africa, renowned for its remarkable preservation of soft-tissue in fossil material. Acacus Sandstone and Soom Shale are Fossiliferous stratigraphic units of Africa and Shale formations.

See Acacus Sandstone and Soom Shale

Trace fossil classification

Trace fossils are classified in various ways for different purposes.

See Acacus Sandstone and Trace fossil classification

Trilobite

Trilobites (meaning "three lobes") are extinct marine arthropods that form the class Trilobita.

See Acacus Sandstone and Trilobite
