Lancelet

The lancelets, also known as amphioxi (amphioxus), consist of some 30 to 35 species of "fish-like" benthic filter feeding chordates in the subphylum Cephalochordata, class Leptocardii, and family Branchiostomatidae. Epigonichthys hectori and lancelet are Cephalochordata.
