British Standards
British Standards (BS) are the standards produced by the BSI Group which is incorporated under a royal charter and which is formally designated as the national standards body (NSB) for the UK.
See ISO 2848 and British Standards
Decimetre
The decimetre (or decimeter in American English; symbol: dm), is a unit of length in the International System of Units, equal to one tenth of a metre, ten centimetres, one hundred millimetres, and 3.937 inches.
Inch
The inch (symbol: in or pprime) is a unit of length in the British Imperial and the United States customary systems of measurement.
International Organization for Standardization
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an independent, non-governmental, international standard development organization composed of representatives from the national standards organizations of member countries.
See ISO 2848 and International Organization for Standardization
International standard
An international standard is a technical standard developed by one or more international standards organizations.
See ISO 2848 and International standard
Length
Length is a measure of distance.
Mental calculation
Mental calculation consists of arithmetical calculations using only the human brain, with no help from any supplies (such as pencil and paper) or devices such as a calculator.
See ISO 2848 and Mental calculation
Millimetre
Different lengths as in respect to the electromagnetic spectrum, measured by the metre and its derived scales. The microwave is between 1 meter to 1 '''millimeter'''. The millimetre (international spelling; SI unit symbol mm) or millimeter (American spelling) is a unit of length in the International System of Units (SI), equal to one thousandth of a metre, which is the SI base unit of length.
Preferred number
In industrial design, preferred numbers (also called preferred values or preferred series) are standard guidelines for choosing exact product dimensions within a given set of constraints.
