Abyssosaurus

Abyssosaurus is an extinct genus of cryptoclidid plesiosaur known from the Early Cretaceous of Chuvash Republic, western Russia. Ophthalmothule and Abyssosaurus are cryptoclidids, plesiosaur stubs and Sauropterygian genera.

See Ophthalmothule and Abyssosaurus

Agardhfjellet Formation

The Agardhfjellet Formation is a geologic formation in Svalbard, Norway. Ophthalmothule and Agardhfjellet Formation are Jurassic Norway.

Berriasian

In the geological timescale, the Berriasian is an age/stage of the Early/Lower Cretaceous.

Boreal ecosystem

A boreal ecosystem is an ecosystem with a subarctic climate located in the Northern Hemisphere, approximately between 50° and 70°N latitude.

Cretaceous

The Cretaceous is a geological period that lasted from about 145 to 66 million years ago (Mya).

Cryptoclididae

Cryptoclididae is a family of medium-sized plesiosaurs that existed from the Middle Jurassic to the Early Cretaceous. Ophthalmothule and Cryptoclididae are cryptoclidids and plesiosaur stubs.

Jurassic

The Jurassic is a geologic period and stratigraphic system that spanned from the end of the Triassic Period million years ago (Mya) to the beginning of the Cretaceous Period, approximately Mya.

Lagerstätte

A Fossil-Lagerstätte (from Lager 'storage, lair' Stätte 'place'; plural Lagerstätten) is a sedimentary deposit that exhibits extraordinary fossils with exceptional preservation—sometimes including preserved soft tissues.

Plesiosaur

The Plesiosauria (Greek: πλησίος, plesios, meaning "near to" and ''sauros'', meaning "lizard") or plesiosaurs are an order or clade of extinct Mesozoic marine reptiles, belonging to the Sauropterygia.

Spitsbergen

Spitsbergen (formerly known as West Spitsbergen; Norwegian: Vest Spitsbergen or Vestspitsbergen, also sometimes spelled Spitzbergen) is the largest and the only permanently populated island of the Svalbard archipelago in northern Norway.

Tithonian

In the geological timescale, the Tithonian is the latest age of the Late Jurassic Epoch and the uppermost stage of the Upper Jurassic Series.
