The retroaortic lymph nodes (or postaortic lymph nodes) are placed below the cisterna chyli, on the bodies of the third and fourth lumbar vertebrae.[1]

Cisterna chyli
The cisterna chyli or receptaculum chyli (chy·li pronounced: ˈkī-ˌlī) is a dilated sac at the lower end of the thoracic duct in most mammals into which lymph from the intestinal trunk and two lumbar lymphatic trunks flow. Retroaortic lymph nodes and cisterna chyli are lymphatics of the torso.

Lumbar vertebrae
The lumbar vertebrae are located between the thoracic vertebrae and pelvis.
See Retroaortic lymph nodes and Lumbar vertebrae
Lymphatic vessel
The lymphatic vessels (or lymph vessels or lymphatics) are thin-walled vessels (tubes), structured like blood vessels, that carry lymph.

Periaortic lymph nodes
The periaortic lymph nodes (also known as lumbar) are a group of lymph nodes that lie in front of the lumbar vertebrae near the aorta. Retroaortic lymph nodes and periaortic lymph nodes are lymphatics of the torso.
See Retroaortic lymph nodes and Periaortic lymph nodes
Preaortic lymph nodes
The preaortic lymph nodes lie in front of the aorta, and may be divided into celiac lymph nodes, superior mesenteric lymph nodes, and inferior mesenteric lymph nodes groups, arranged around the origins of the corresponding arteries. Retroaortic lymph nodes and preaortic lymph nodes are lymphatic system stubs and lymphatics of the torso.
