Alder
Alders are trees that compose the genus Alnus in the birch family Betulaceae.
Blueberry
Blueberry is a widely distributed and widespread group of perennial flowering plant with blue or purple berries.

Ecosystem
An ecosystem (or ecological system) is a system that environments and their organisms form through their interaction.
Fen
A fen is a type of peat-accumulating wetland fed by mineral-rich ground or surface water. Shrub swamp and fen are wetlands.
Fresh water
Fresh water or freshwater is any naturally occurring liquid or frozen water containing low concentrations of dissolved salts and other total dissolved solids.
See Shrub swamp and Fresh water
Freshwater swamp forest
Freshwater swamp forests, or flooded forests, are forests which are inundated with freshwater, either permanently or seasonally. Shrub swamp and freshwater swamp forest are swamps.

Hummock
In geology, a hummock is a small knoll or mound above ground.

North America

Palustrine wetland
Palustrine wetlands include any inland wetland that contains ocean-derived salts in concentrations of less than 0.5 parts per thousand, and is non-tidal.
See Shrub swamp and Palustrine wetland
Peat
Peat is an accumulation of partially decayed vegetation or organic matter. Shrub swamp and Peat are types of soil and wetlands.
Sambucus
Sambucus is a genus of flowering plants in the family Adoxaceae.
Sapric
A sapric is a subtype of a histosol where virtually all of the organic material has undergone sufficient decomposition to prevent the identification of plant parts. Shrub swamp and sapric are Pedology and types of soil.
Swamp
A swamp is a forested wetland. Shrub swamp and swamp are Pedology, swamps and wetlands.
Wet meadow
A wet meadow is a type of wetland with soils that are saturated for part or all of the growing season which prevents the growth of trees and brush. Shrub swamp and wet meadow are wetlands.
See Shrub swamp and Wet meadow
Wetland
A wetland is a distinct semi-aquatic ecosystem whose groundcovers are flooded or saturated in water, either permanently, for years or decades, or only seasonally for a shorter periods. Shrub swamp and wetland are wetlands.
Willow
