Treaty of the Dardanelles, the Glossary
The Treaty of the Dardanelles (also known as the Dardanelles Treaty of Peace, Commerce, and Secret Alliance, the Treaty of Çanak, the Treaty of Chanak or Kale-i Sultaniye Antlaşması) was concluded between the Ottoman Empire and Great Britain on 5 January 1809 at Çanak, Ottoman Empire.[1]

Dardanelles
The Dardanelles (lit; translit), also known as the Strait of Gallipoli (after the Gallipoli peninsula) and in Classical Antiquity as the Hellespont (Helle), is a narrow, natural strait and internationally significant waterway in northwestern Turkey that forms part of the continental boundary between Asia and Europe and separates Asian Turkey from European Turkey. Treaty of the Dardanelles and Dardanelles are Turkish Straits.

London Straits Convention
In the London Straits Convention concluded on 13 July 1841 between the Great Powers of Europe at the time—Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Austria and Prussia—the "ancient rule" of the Ottoman Empire was re-established by closing the Turkish Straits (the Bosporus and Dardanelles), which link the Black Sea to the Mediterranean, from all warships whatsoever, barring those of the Sultan's allies during wartime. Treaty of the Dardanelles and London Straits Convention are Treaties of the United Kingdom (1801–1922) and Turkish Straits.
