Anatosuchus

Anatosuchus ("duck crocodile", the name from the Latin anas ("duck") and the Greek souchos ("crocodile"), for the broad, duck-like snout) is an extinct genus of notosuchian crocodyliforms discovered in Gadoufaoua, Niger, and described by a team of palaeontologists led by the American Paul Sereno in 2003, in the Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology. Trematochampsa and Anatosuchus are Prehistoric pseudosuchian genera.

See Trematochampsa and Anatosuchus

Araripesuchus

Araripesuchus is a genus of extinct crocodyliform that existed during the Cretaceous period of the late Mesozoic era some 125 to 66 million years ago. Trematochampsa and Araripesuchus are Cretaceous Niger, late Cretaceous crocodylomorphs of Africa and Prehistoric pseudosuchian genera.

Éric Buffetaut

Éric Buffetaut (born 19 November 1950) is a French paleontologist, author and researcher at the Centre national de la recherche scientifique since 1976 where he is a Doctor of Science and Director of Research.

Coniacian

The Coniacian is an age or stage in the geologic timescale.

Crocodyliformes

Crocodyliformes is a clade of crurotarsan archosaurs, the group often traditionally referred to as "crocodilians". Trematochampsa and Crocodyliformes are crocodyliforms.

Extinction

Extinction is the termination of a taxon by the death of its last member.

Genus

Genus (genera) is a taxonomic rank above species and below family as used in the biological classification of living and fossil organisms as well as viruses.

See Trematochampsa and Genus

In Beceten Formation

The In Beceten Formation, also Beceten or Ibecten is a Coniacian to Santonian geologic formation in the Iullemmeden Basin of Niger. Trematochampsa and in Beceten Formation are Cretaceous Niger.

Lacrimal bone

The lacrimal bones are two small and fragile bones of the facial skeleton; they are roughly the size of the little fingernail and situated at the front part of the medial wall of the orbit.

Late Cretaceous

The Late Cretaceous (100.5–66 Ma) is the younger of two epochs into which the Cretaceous Period is divided in the geologic time scale.

Madagascar

Madagascar, officially the Republic of Madagascar and the Fourth Republic of Madagascar, is an island country comprising the island of Madagascar and numerous smaller peripheral islands.

Miadanasuchus

Miadanasuchus is an extinct genus of peirosaurid which existed in the Maevarano Formation of Madagascar during the late Cretaceous period (Campanian age). Trematochampsa and Miadanasuchus are Prehistoric archosaur stubs and Prehistoric pseudosuchian genera.

Neosuchia

Neosuchia is a clade within Mesoeucrocodylia that includes all modern extant crocodilians and their closest fossil relatives.
