The London Necropolis Railway was a railway line opened in November 1854 by the London Necropolis Company (LNC), to carry corpses and mourners between London and the LNC's newly opened Brookwood Cemetery, southwest of London in Brookwood, Surrey. Nine Elms railway station was located in Nine Elms and opened on 21 May 1838 as the London terminus of the London and Southampton Railway, which later became the London and South Western Railway.
