See Category:1975 hoaxes and its parents. Hoaxes and scandals are subcategories of "controversies". Dimadick (talk) 15:54, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- Please post new threads at the bottom of Talk pages. That's the standard in almost all cases.
- I have doubts about whether hoaxes and scandals are equivalent to controversies, but I don't care enough to make a fuss about it at this time. DonIago (talk) 16:57, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Voice of Creation here, and fellow Trekkie. I have checked the summary guide, and after much gnashing of teeth, rage-fueled slapping, and swearing to unleash the wrath of Singh upon you, I recognized that your reversions were correct. The only thing I would ask is that the end of the summary for "Where No Man Has Gone Before" mention the moment between Spock and Kirk where he mentions how he feels. The interpretation that such a mention is too dramatic for readers is bizarre; it caps off the episode proper. At least, that is what my overly emotional mind tells me. GenesisMaster (talk) 11:06, 5 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- Honestly, as long as the summary stays at 400 words maximum, I'm not going to get overly conccerned about it one way or another. Hell, I probably wouldn't care if it was slightly over 400 words, but there's an unfortunate propensity among editors, especially ones less familiar with the P&G, to just keeping adding 'one more thing' until the plot summary is vastly out of proportion relative to the recommended and attainable word count.
- Cheers though, and thanks for reaching out! I'm definitely a Trekkie...and yet, from my time on the TrekBBS, I've come to realize that I'm only about half the Trekkie that many, many other people are! Happy editing! DonIago (talk) 04:17, 6 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Side note about this: If you enable "Show discussion activity" in Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-editing-discussion then it will show the number of comments and the number of editors in each ==Level 2== section. WhatamIdoing (talk) 03:25, 9 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- Iiiii don't have a "Show discussion activity" option, and when I searched the Preferences I didn't see that one's available. Thanks for the tip; I'd be happy to implement it if I could find it! DonIago (talk) 03:28, 9 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I left messages on User_talk:Wamalotpark pages for MOS:GEOLINK for Chicago, Illinois vs Chicago, Illinois they've left messages on mine, and on Talk:United_Center they said they didn't care, and were leaving the pages alone, as to if we couldn't come to an agreement you were to leave the pages as is. Then come to find out they changed it again. I am just looking to get a third party opinion on it. Not trying to get anyone banned, or into an edit war. Just trying to get some help on this, thanks. Brotherbenz (talk) 18:10, 11 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- As I've now said there, if you want a third-party opinion, I think you need to start by providing a clear description of what the disagreement actually is. You can't just summarize it as you have above, but you need to verbalize what the root issue is. If this is about edit-warring, then there are processes for how to address that. DonIago (talk) 18:27, 11 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

your automated tooling is a waste of my time. Bart Terpstra (talk) 18:02, 12 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- If being informed when you violate policies and guidelines is a waste of your time, editing Wikipedia may not be a good fit for you. DonIago (talk) 20:24, 12 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
"Why is this relevant? It's not mentioned anywhere else in the article."
Sir, it is relevant because it is part of the plot of the film, plus I narrowed it down to a simple brief description:
That evening, via a device called The Circuit, he meets Jessica 6, a young woman also wearing an ankh pendant.
The current sentence in this section of the plot is this before my edits were needlessly reverted:
That evening, he meets Jessica 6, a young woman also wearing an ankh pendant.
It is only SIX additonal words and it adds a brief detail to the plot description that actually happened in the film.
I don't want to get into a tiresome editing war on the Logan's Run article but I think the addition fits fine. Thank you. Eric Carpenter (talk) 16:11, 19 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- Not sure why you felt the need to space out your comment as you did, but okay.
- I don't see where in your comment you establish why it's specifically important to mention The Circuit, versus just saying he meets Jessica. There's no mention of The Circuit anywhere else in the article, so it doesn't exactly seem to be an important plot device. You may want to read WP:FILMPLOT; we typically try not to add plot details just for the sake of including them.
- You are welcome to raise the question at the article's Talk page if you feel strongly that this merits inclusion. That would allow other editors to weigh in as well. Cheers. DonIago (talk) 16:38, 19 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I guess I'm not as conversant as I should be in editing via the app - couldn't figure out how to insert the required citation. Timhogs (talk) 22:26, 20 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- You're welcome! Happy to help out if I can! Please note that for "In popular culture"-style items, generally a secondary source is needed, as discussed at WP:IPCV. Happy editing! DonIago (talk) 03:20, 21 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
