Hi. You undo an edit I did on the F*** Marry Kill article. You said that I didn't provide a reliable source. I have a copy of the film. I take the names of the characters from the credits. I think that is a super reliable source. If you want I could send you a screenshoot of them. But you know what, before you reverse someone's edit only cause you don't know why someone did that or where did that person took the information, you could ask first. Thanks. Emilerudoy2 (talk) 19:57, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- Oh you have a copy of a film that is not released yet? Mike Allen 19:59, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes. You want screenshots? Emilerudoy2 (talk) 21:35, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- Btw, according to IMDB (that some of you people think are a non reliable source, the film was realesed in December 6 2024.

Hi, I expressed concern about AI-generated comments and quoted one of them that you reverted. See discussion here: WT:FILM § AI-generated comments? Feel free to share thoughts, or be aware in general. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 14:21, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- Thanks for letting me know. It appears all the IPs originate from Russia. Or could be a proxy, I guess… Mike Allen 15:04, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Mike - just letting you know that I'm planning to revert a change that you made to this page, when you took out a sentence about fans being horrified by the death of Mark Darcy, and left the comment: Oh no, not fan horrified. Are you serious.
This information is referenced to a legitimate news site (and has been reported in many others), but my main reason for restoring it is that I've got a 'Did You Know' item about the Mad about the Boy novel, on this topic, which will be appearing on the WP homepage very soon. (Information about it here: [[Template:Did you know nominations/Bridget Jones: Mad about the Boy (novel)]]
@Surtsicna Letting you know as well, as I'm grateful for your help with the DYK. Blackballnz (talk) 00:02, 25 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- You should probably read WP:NPOV and WP:UNDUE. One news report said some “fans” were “horrified” by this trivia change. I mean… I don’t know… that just doesn’t seem like encyclopedic writing. But carry on. Mike Allen 00:08, 25 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- Thanks Mike. I could probably include 10+ references from news reports, but that's a bit pointless. As it's been accepted for DYK, I'm figuring it must be OK. Blackballnz (talk) 01:15, 25 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Why was this removed. This is a fair comment and information to add with a source to back it up. Ginger4063 (talk) 02:31, 26 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about putting an image of Amie Donald on the M3GAN 2 page. I realize it was too big and I apologize for this misunderstanding. HiGuys69420 (talk) 16:37, 3 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- No problem. The page just isn't large enough at the moment for additional images. Mike Allen 17:59, 3 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You destroyed my page! Everything on the page was sourced. Do your own proper research on my career and restore my page to reflect my career. I will stop donating to Wiki as a result of these ridiculous edits. Example. All my awards are on IMDB! They are no longer on my page, nor my last two plays. Truly pissed! 172.250.69.75 (talk) 16:04, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- But yet I updated the pages if your Sordid Lives films and created the last one on Wikipedia. But ok. Your page was unsourced for a WP:BLP and we do not use WP:IMDB as a source as it is user generated like Wikipedia. If you really are Del. Mike Allen 16:10, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- Also no one here works for Wikipedia. We are volunteers. Yes I volunteered to update your pages to support Wikipedia guidelines and policies… The tone of the page read like it was written by a publicist, or you. See WP:COI.Mike Allen 16:12, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- Fair, but some of the stuff was credited and you destroyed that. Since I am a playwright and artist, who has many other credits that are easily sourced (all you had to do is google), can I send those to you or another editor to update -- And I am indeed Del Shores! Feel free to vet me through my talk page here, that I just created.
- And thanks for creating the Sordid Lives pages. Appreciated that. My point is -- since I also have a degree in journalism, there was a way for you to do your own vetting of my career, as you edited. DelShores (talk) 17:03, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- Question -- if I feed you sources, can you vet them then and edit my page? The edits before (that you say read like a publicist) was done by a fan who told me my page was outdated.
- Example to feed. This Side of Crazy play – world premiere New Conservatory Theatre Center, San Francisco

- This was done in June 2024, so I had to go back and dig through the history to see what was actually edited.
- First edit was to unlink to stage plays because they did not have articles.
- Second edit I removed unsourced date of birth, unlinked pages per WP:OVERLINK, removed external links inside of articles (like Del Shores Foundation being used in a sentence, in the Personal life section - those first three sentences was removed because no third party source was added which is allowed per WP:BLPREMOVE. I added the nav box to the bottom of the page (Template:Del Shores) that I created.
- Third edit I added a maintenance template that the page needs more sources.
- Fourth edit I removed unsourced full name.
- Fifth edit I sourced the birth location, removed more unsourced content (that must be sourced with third party reliable sources). The whole awards section was unsourced, and we really only add notable awards (usually ones that have their own Wiki page). I tried to condense plays and screenplays together but some got removed for some reason. I will go through and add all credits back.
- Sixth edit I just archived sources to prevent WP:LINKROT
- Seventh edit Unsourced statements removed, children that not in the public eye or notable was removed per WP:BLPNAMES. Also I sourced that statement. I sourced the statement about being divorced.
- Eigth edit was done because I found a source for the birth date.
- I was not trying to destroy your Wikipedia page by purposely removing credits. Also, yes absolutely I can use those sources to edit your page, and I will. My apologies for not finding other sources for awards and credits. Mike Allen 21:30, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- Just a question: When you see something unsourced like my full name which can be sourced with a simple google source, why wouldn't you just add the source rather than delete? Also, with credits on IMDB and awards that are sent to IMDB from film festivals, I'm confused why it isn't a valid source? I'm not trying to be contrary, but most of my credits and awards can easily be vetted if googled. Also, that picture is 10 years old. I'm not sure how to get a recent one there, but I could send you a google link of one that is recent? My foundation does amazing things for LGBTQ+ storytellers, and I would certainly like it to be in my wiki if possible. Any advice is appreciated and thanks for working with me on this. 172.250.69.75 (talk) 22:10, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- Also -- is this a valid source??

- Thanks for the websites. I will be working on this today. Mike Allen 14:33, 9 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- Thank you. I'll continue to give you these in pieces to not overwhelm. Again, very grateful for this respectful dialogue. Apologies by starting so aggressively. It was just so jarring to have valid credits that can be vetted to be eliminated from my career.
- A few more you might consider:
- PICTURE: I would love you to replace the picture if possible. My foundation website has a good one of just me with my hand on my face -- https://www.delshoresfoundation.org/del-shores Also same one on IMBD: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0794971/
- I would love to have my foundation on my page. We help a lot of Queer storytellers. Here are some news articles:

- Article where Del Shores Foundation sponsored Leslie Jordan star (not sure if him getting star in Palm Springs is on his page either)

- About the images see Wikipedia:Image use policy. For that image, you would need to have the photographer release the image under a Creative Commons license. If you are a copyright owner of any images (like one you've taken yourself), you can go here and click the blue button that says Interactive Release Generator. This will guide you through on how to release it under a free license. If you are in contact with that person, you could have them do the same, if possible. Wikipedia requires biographical pages to have free images. That's why sometimes you see very old pictures on Wikipedia biography pages, because it's the only free image available. :\
- Also I wanted to apologize again for being careless about not researching more. As I'm working on sourcing your credits, they have been reviewed or mentioned in Variety, The Los Angeles Times, Playbill. So obviously they should have never been removed. I'm going to add the credits and awards back today, but I will also be working in the days to come on the article as a whole - like adding more information from these sources and creating tables for your credits for better functionality and presentation. Mike Allen 21:25, 9 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- My daughter took that picture and I own the copyright so I just did that per your advice. Not sure what to do now, but assuming I will get a return email.
- Thanks for the apology and for being so gracious about restoring some of my credits and awards.
- The awards I guess I'm most proud of are 2001 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding L.A. Theater Production for "Southern Baptist Sissies" and the Beverly Hills/Hollywood NAACP Theatre awards for Best Playwright/Playwright Adaptation and Best Produced Play for "The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife." - Yes you should get an email reply. Question: Did you have a role as a minister in the film, The Undertaker's Wife? It apparently was completed in 2020 but some kind of legal battle with a producer has prevented it being released. There's not a lot information about it. Mike Allen 22:50, 9 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes, I did shoot that film playing with Chad Darnell and am aware of the legal issues. DelShores (talk) 06:14, 10 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- Playing the minister, should have written. DelShores (talk) 06:15, 10 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- Everything looks great. I've uploaded a new picture, but am waiting instructions of how to put on my page. Thank you for all your help. You went beyond the call of duty! DelShores (talk) 15:05, 10 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- One question -- I noticed that some people with wiki pages are linked to mine, others not. Is there a reason?
- I don't mind all linked (would rather not have ex husband Jason Dottley) linked. DelShores (talk) 17:08, 10 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- You’re welcome, glad I could make it right! I’m still not done though. Other pages I’ve worked on heavily is Tobin Bell, to give you an idea of the direction I would like to take for your page - given the amount of sources there are. I will also add filmography tables like on Gerard Johnstone’s television section.
- If you mean wiki links.. Names not linked (example: Del Shores) would mean the person does not have an article. One could be created if they meet the notability requirements.
- Let me know if you have any issues about your picture. I’ll post on the help desk on the Wiki Commons site. Mike Allen 01:27, 11 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- Thanks. Here's the link. I couldn't get it posted. And those other pages are AMAZING! Thanks for helping make my page so great. DelShores (talk) 17:20, 11 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I was about to approach you regarding a talk page discussion at The Brutalist when I noticed that an IP user was passing shrewd comments about you in some sections of your talk page. Curious why they were irate about unrelated topics, I stumbled across a long, slow edit war between you and them on Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 that seems to have escalated from a petty matter. My main concern is the fact that neither have you tried to talk to the user or warn them about their behaviour, nor has there been an attempt to bring the alarming number of reverts to a halt. Furthermore, you have neglected their comments, especially personal attacks against you. Now all I ask is this: why was this not addressed earlier? Ignorance cannot be feigned any longer and this dispute must draw to a reasonable conclusion. If my seemingly haphazard intervention may have aggravated this charade, I deeply apologize, but this has to stop as soon as possible. A talk page discussion has since been initiated to mediate this conflict and I invite you to help resolve it in a peaceful manner. Thank you for your time. FloorMadeOuttaFloor (go ahead, make my day) 06:18, 9 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- I pretty much answered this on the page's talk. It boils down to the IP adds WP:OR, I remove it, they got mad that their edit was removed. Their only major contribution was that one, which was a red flag. They are simply WP:NOTHERE, but I should not have even engaged with them or the page after the July 2024 edits. I will say they have been the most persistent in preserving those edits. It's just been really odd and I'm sorry you got dragged into it with they accusing us of somehow canvassing (almost a year later). Mike Allen 14:52, 9 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
