Croton Point Park

Croton-on-Hudson is a village of 8,100 people (2019) in Westchester County, New York. In the first half of the 20th century, it was home to many artists, writers and communists.

Take 9A North or 9A South depending on where you are coming from. Then you can get off at the Senasqua exit, Croton Harmon Exit or the Cortlandt Manor exit

  • Bee Line System. Westchester County's bus service provides access to White Plains and other locations in the county. Schedules and route maps are available on-line and at the Croton-Harmon train station.

  • Croton Point Park hosts Clearwater's Great Hudson River Revival, a yearly folk music, art and environmental festival.
  • Summerfest. Every year the central business district (with corners at the municipal building, Grand Street fire house and Croton-Harmon High School) is closed to automobile traffic for music, American food, local fundraisers, and traveling and local artists.
  • Every weekend in October, people visit Van Cortlandt Manor to see the Blaze. Started in 2005, the Blaze consists of thousands of pumpkins which are hollowed out by volunteers but carved by a creative team.
  • 2 Samurai Sushi & Hibachi, 352 S Riverside Ave, +1 914 271-8988. Everyone has been to a Japanese steak house, but this one is different. They have sushi, hibachi, and many other things. They have specialty drinks ranging in Japanese soda to dragon bowls.

Self-taught chef Brian Galvin presents New England-style seashore fare. Very romantic, and small. Perfect for a date. It used to be an old caboose diner, now it is an upscale fish restaurant, but there is limited space, you much go in that day and make a reservation because it fills up quickly! (updated Apr 2021)

Independent coffee house often features indie performer on Friday and Saturday nights. They roast their own beans on premises. Excellent coffee drinks. This is different to other coffee houses because the owner imports many different coffee beans from all around the world, so you know if you go to the Black Cow you're getting the best stuff on earth. The Cortlandt Town Center (formerly known as the Westchester Mall) is a large retail power center in the town of Cortlandt, New York. It is a predominantly outdoor shopping center. Anchor stores include Wal-Mart, The Home Depot, Best Buy, A&P, Barnes & Noble, Office Max, PetSmart, Old Navy, Marshall's and Modell's. It also contains a 12-screen United Artists Theater, GameStop, the Mohegan Lake post office (zip code 10547) and several restaurants including McDonald's, Applebee's, Panera Bread, Nathan's Famous and Piazza Roma, a locally owned Italian restaurant.
