hitching post (plural hitching posts)
- A post to which a horse (or other animal) may be tethered to prevent it from straying.
Joe tied his horse to the hitching post before going into the bank.
- (slang) A main shelter at a recreation place (e.g. a campground) where people go to socialize, eat, and purchase small items.
