On behalf of the deputy minister of tourism, Senior Tourism Officer Lygia Dermatis, said the deputy ministry -- until recently the Cyprus Tourism Organisation -- has been supporting the 'Taxidi' exhibition since its inception.

A inscricao de seu nome no seleto grupo de escultoras nacionais que se dedicaram a abstracao, assim como o de suas outras duas companheiras acima referidas, merece figurar, no mesmo recorte formal, ao lado de Amelia Toledo (1926-2017), Lygia Clark (1920-1988), Lygia Pape (1927-2004), Mary Vieira (1927-2001), Tomie Othake (1913-2015), artistas mulheres que investiram na abstracao, principalmente a geometrica.

This tactful way of commanding volume with something almost immaterial yet vividly, sensually present has correlates in more familiar art: In the catalogue that accompanied the 2008 Carnegie International, essayist Max Andrews connected Shettar to the "'alternative modernisms' of pioneering women artists such as Marisa Merz, Eva Hesse, Lygia Clark, and Gego." There are indeed affinities between Shettar and these artists, reinforced in the case of Gego and, in certain works, Hesse by a common impulse toward the air.

From the same year, i960, comes Lygia Clark's aluminium maquette for Bicho (Luhring Augustine).

Among the artists set to participate in the inaugural installations are Bourgeois, Michael Heizer, Roni Horn, On Kawara, Brice Marden, Lygia Pape, Martin Puryear and Charles Ray.

De acordo com Ronaldo Brito (1999:43), o impacto pleno destas ideias [as ideias da vanguarda do seculo XX] no Brasil coincide com o momento, pouco depois da guerra, quando Lygia [Clark] e o outro grande inovador brasileiro, Helio Oiticica, comecaram a trabalhar.
