🇮🇹 Italy: Festival di Sanremo 2023 Participants Revealed - Eurovoix

The twenty-two Campioni participants in the Festival di Sanremo 2023 have been revealed this afternoon.

Amadeus has this afternoon revealed the twenty-two Campioni artists that will be competing in Festival di Sanmremo 2023. The twenty-two artists will be joined by six singers from Sanremo Giovani 2022. The participants are:

  • Gianluca Grignani
  • Rosa Chemical
  • Come_Cose
  • Levante
  • Ultimo

The titles of the songs that each of the singers will compete with will be revealed during the final of Sanremo Giovani 2022 on December 16.

Festival di Sanremo 2023 will be held from February 7 to 11. The contest will again feature 25 artists of which three will qualify for the contest through Sanremo Giovani. All 25 artists will be competing with songs that are not released until the night of the performances.

The fourth evening of the show will be dedicated to covers of Italian or international songs released between January 1, 1960 and December 31, 1999. The way in which the winner of the Festival di Sanremo 2023 is chosen remains the same as in recent years. The winner of the Festival di Sanremo 2023 will represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.

Mahmood and Blanco represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 on home ground in Turin with the song “Brividi”. They finished sixth in the final with 268 points.

Italy debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1956 and has participated a total of 42 times to date. Italy returned to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 having last participated in the contest in 1997, the country has withdrawn from the contest on a number of occasions in the past. Italy has won the contest three times, the first time being in 1964 and the latest being in 2021. Italy’s hosting of the contest in 1991 has been remembered as one of the most chaotic contests to date. Since their return in 2011 Italy has finished in the top 10 on eight occasions.
