“Modern Love” is going from print to Amazon.

The streaming platform has given a straight to series order for Modern Love, a half-hour romantic comedy anthology series based on the popular New York Times column, EW has confirmed.

Written, directed, and produced by John Carney (Once, Sing Street), the eight standalone episodes will explore love in all different forms, including sexual, romantic, platonic, familial, and self love.

“It’s telling heightened kind of stories about love and romance, not necessarily all romantic,” new Amazon Studios boss Jennifer Salke told Deadline.

The series is part of a comedy overhaul at Amazon, which earlier this year axed I Love Dick, One Mississippi, Jean-Claude Van Johnson, Red Oaks, and Mozart in the Jungle.
