Cyclin-dependent kinase 4 (CDK4) amplification is present in over 90% of well-differentiated liposarcoma and dedifferentiated liposarcoma. This article presents a useful summary of its role in driving the overexpression of CDK4 and cell cycle progression through dysregulated phosphorylation of retinoblastoma (Rb) protein.
