Orlando Pride Adds Keene '16 as National Team Replacement Player - Harvard University

ORLANDO, Fla. – Making her professional soccer debut, former Harvard women's soccer defender Alika Keene '16 has signed with the Orlando Pride of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) as a national team replacement player.

Keene appeared in 65 games for the Crimson at center back, including 58 starts. The Mount Dora, Florida native was a part of two Ivy League championship teams in 2013 and 2014, including a second round appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Keene tallied five assists across her Harvard career, and contributed to 30 shutouts. Internationally, Keene has represented Jamaica at the youth level.

Keene joined Leah Mohammadi '19 on the preseason roster for the Pride in March, and she is the second active Harvard alumna in the league, joining the Portland Thorns's Midge Purce '17. Lizzie Durack '17 is also playing professionally for Chelsea FC in England.

Orlando returns to action on Saturday, May 25, traveling to face Utah Royals FC at 8 p.m. ET at Rio Tinto Stadium.
