Big Gun

The Big Gun is a long-range beam cannon that appeared in the Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt manga series and its animated adaptation.

Technology & Combat Characteristics[]

This powerful long-range beam cannon was developed by the Principality of Zeon, and used by the mobile suits piloted by snipers from the Living Dead Division. It is powered by three onboard large generators, and does not draw power from the controlling mobile suit. The gun's barrel will wear out with use and needs to be replaced after firing a certain number of beam shots.

Armaments[]

  • Beam Cannon
With the energy from the three onboard large generators, the Big Gun's beam cannon can sink a battleship in one shot.

History[]

One Year War[]

The Big Gun was operated by mobile suits of the Principality of Zeon's Living Dead Division in the Thunderbolt Sector, hidden among the debris of the surrounding Side 4 colony to pick off enemy forces of the Moore Brotherhood. They destroyed multiple of the Brotherhood's RGM-79 GM (Thunderbolt Ver.) units.

Post War[]

After the war, a Big Gun was used on Earth by Daryl Lorenz piloting the prototype of the Psycho Zaku Mk-II against the Pegasus-class assault carrier Spartan.
