Adelaide Oakes

Adelaide Oakes (b. 1874/1875) was a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the late 19th century where she was Sorted into Hufflepuff.[4]

Biography[]

Adelaide was orphaned at a young age, as her mother died in childbirth and her father died when she was five years old. After her parents' death, her uncle Rowland Oakes took care of her.

She was friends with fellow Hufflepuff Evangeline Bardsley. After Headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black had the bells of Hogwarts removed, she initially agreed to help Evangeline put them back where they belonged, but eventually feared that she might get into trouble due to Black's questioning, and refused to complete the job.[3] During the 1890–1891 school year, she enlisted the aid of the new fifth-year in locating her uncle, who had dealings with Ranrok's Loyalists.[4]
