Corrine Cribb was a Dark witch with an interest in magical beasts.^[2]

Biography[]

Early life[]

At some point, Cribb married Todd Cribb, a fellow wizard who was also interested in profiteering from magical creatures.^[1]

Chinese Fireball[]

At some point in the 1980s, she threatened Rubeus Hagrid that she would ask the owner of a female Chinese Fireball to sell the dragon to her, because she wanted to make a dragon-skin coat out of her.^[2]

Cribb's desire to purchase the dragon failed, thankfully, since Jacob's sibling and Penny Haywood managed to cure her inability to breathe fire with an altered Pepperup Potion, leaving Cribb very angry that she would no longer be able to buy the dragon from its owner. She swore revenge against Hagrid, but Hagrid later told the two students that her "bark was worse than her bite", and that she would be burned if she tried to capture the dragon herself.^[2]

1985–1986 school year[]

During the 1985–1986 school year, Corrine and Todd Cribb tried to kidnap Fang from Rubeus Hagrid as revenge for Hagrid stopping their poaching activities, however they were unable determine which pets belonged to Hagrid, so kidnapped all pets in the vicinity. Corrine and her husband did this under an Invisibility Cloak so they wouldn't be followed, but they were able to be followed by the trail of birdseed, tung oil, and Demiguise hair that they left. Jacob's sibling and Merula Snyde confronted the pair and defeated them in a duel, after which they Disapparated to an unknown location.^[4]

At some point, MACUSA employee Holly Blackbird caught Cribb trying to sneak into a Hodag reserve in Wisconsin. Cribb lured a Hodag that was being kept by Hagrid with Mooncalf Essence into the Forest Grove of the Forbidden Forest so she could take its horns as a prized potion ingredient. Jacob's sibling apprehended her and duelled her, but Cribb Disapparated with the Hodag. Jacob's sibling then informed Blackbird and Hagrid of her theft, and Blackbird and Jacob's sibling found her in the Magical Creatures Reserve with the Hodag, upon which Blackbird defeated and incapacitated her.^[3]

Physical description[]

She looked like a middle-aged woman in the late 1980s. She wore all black. She had dark coloured eyes and black hair with two strands of grey hair made into a bun.^[2]

Personality and traits[]

According to Rubeus Hagrid, Corrine Cribb was a cruel and callous witch with a disregard for both people and animals, as shown with her sadistic desire to have a dragon skinned alive simply to make a coat from its skin. She also saw no problem with threatening other individuals. However, Hagrid acknowledged that her "bark was worse than her bite", implying her threats were often empty.^[2]

Magical abilities and skills[]

• Dark Arts: Jacob's sibling described her as being a Dark witch.^[2]
• Duelling: Cribb once duelled with MACUSA employee Holly Blackbird and Jacob's sibling, although she was defeated by both of them.^[3]
• Charms: She was able to swiftly use the Disarming Charm to disarm Jacob's sibling and Tulip Karasu.^[5]
• Apparition: Cribb was capable of Apparating successfully at will.^[3]
