Here, my dear music  friends, is an oldie from 2009, but darn if it doesn’t grab my heart on the day after Christmas. I am still in full celebration mode, how bout you? I am traveling to see family today, but missing others I won’t see or hug. I imagine it is a tough time of the year for those who aren’t near all of their loved ones. For those with a longing gap and unfillable space which must be heart wrenching, this song goes out to you. It ends beautifully in a chanting, singing plea and begging jam to be with the ones you love. Maybe, just maybe, 2017 will bring more of that for us all.

Charles Watson and Rebecca Taylor from Sheffield formed Slow Club in 2005 when they were teens, but as time passed their sound solidified. According to their Facebook page, they sing ‘sweet harmonious hooks, rockabilly beats and exuberant yelps and yips, all held together by some breath-taking harmonizing’. I totally agree with the spot on description and wonder why I haven’t heard their music before now. This song twists at my heart and is my happy entryway to a treasure trove of new songs to listen to and soak into my ears
