Gli MTV Video Music Awards 2007 si sono svolti il 9 settembre 2007 a Las Vegas, Nevada. Questa 24ª non ha avuto un presentatore principale, ma se ne sono alternati molti.[1]
Questa edizione è ricordata soprattutto per la disastrosa performance di Britney Spears con la canzone Gimme More, durante la quale la cantante sbagliò molti passi di danza e sembrò avere qualche difficoltà a stare dietro al playback.[2]
I più nominati di questa edizione furono Justin Timberlake e Beyoncé, con 7 nomination a testa, mentre a vincere più premi durante la serata fu Justin Timberlake, che si aggiudicò 4 statuette. Mentre Rihanna ricevette il premio più prestigioso come Video dell'anno per il suo Umbrella.[1]
A differenza delle precedenti edizioni degli MTV Video Music Awards, nel 2007 oltre alle esibizioni sul palco principale ci furono vari concerti paralleli, ognuno tenuto da una band con degli artisti ospiti. Le poche esibizioni sul palco di The Palms furono trasmesse in diretta.
