Dave Meltzer Star Ratings WWE Backlash: France

Dave Meltzer has reviewed and rated WWE Backlash 2024.

As published in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer has given his star ratings for the latest Premium Live Event that aired live from Lyon, France.

With an extremely loud crowd that never dipped throughout the entire weekend of action, Backlash was a success financially as it set a new record for the highest gate of any arena show in company history.

Kicking off with a chaotic Street Fight, Solo Sikoa and Tama Toga defeated Kevin Owens and Randy Orton thanks to help from the newest member of The Bloodline Tanga Loa, who made his shock return to the company at the show and aligned himself with the group. One title change took place at Backlash as Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill defeated The Kabuki Warrior to become the new Women’s Tag Team Champions. The victory marks Cargill’s first championship reign in WWE.

In the main event, Cody Rhodes defended the Undisputed Championship against AJ Styles in what was his first televised title defence since his triumphant victory at WrestleMania.
