Four anthologies of early tracks by Steeleye Span, Martin Carthy, Tim Hart and Maddy Prior. They are important for collectors as the track General Taylor was never released on other records.
Time Span is a re-packaging of the two LPs Almanack and Individually and Collectively. The Cambra album Steeleye Span has the same tracks as Time Span but in a different order. It also claims that all tracks were from this group and doesn’t acknowledge the members’ solo and duo tracks.
Note: On all LPs shown here, False Knight on the Road is Tim Hart and Maddy Prior’s version from Summer Solstice. But even if the sleeve notes of Edsel’s CD reissue of Individually and Collectively claim to have this track too, it actually contains Steeleye Span’s version from Please to See the King with Martin Carthy singing.
