X-Force Café
The X-Force Café was a chain of stores and restaurants branded after the media-driven X-Force. It sold merchandise of the team, including posters, plushes of Doop[1] and even X-Force-branded beer.[2]
When the team's name changed to X-Statix, the X-Force Café was naturally rebranded to X-Statix Café. Following Arnold Lundberg's scandal and the departure of Guy Smith from the team, the X-Statix Café suffered a loss of 2 percent.[3]
Known Locations[]
There were at least 21 locations of the X-Force Café:
- Orange County, California
- Des Moines, Iowa
- South Des Moines, run by Hank Zlotty
- At least one other
Orange County[]
This franchise was the twenty-first location of the X-Force Café. At its opening, a statue of the then-recently-departed Sluk was placed in there. For $20, Sluk's facial tentacles would activate, releasing a "pleasantly mild electronic pulse." Furthermore, fifty percent of all profits went go to Sluk's favourite charities.[4]
South Des Moines[]
Hank Zlotty ran this franchise of the X-Force Café. He was interviewed during X-Force's mission on the Mars 2010 Space Station, where the team was feared to have been killed by the "aliens," prompting meetings of fans. Hank used his screentime to protest against the X-Force company, which was setting up too many franchises, leading to encroachment between the different X-Force Cafés, despite promising holders they would be the only ones in their areas.[2]
