Chase of Kev
The Chase of Kev was a sudden pursuit initiated by James Connors to make Brigid O'Reilly believe that he was willing to assist her in her plan to fight against drug dealing in New Orleans.
Background[]
Newly arrived in New Orleans, NOPD Detective Brigid O'Reilly took an interest in the drug dealing activity in the city. Through her investigations, she began to suspect that fellow Detective James Connors was involved in this criminal activity, although she was unable to prove it.[2] Connors was actually working with Duane Porter to organize the drug trafficking, and discovered that O'Reilly was slowly following his trail and that she could soon find evidence against him.
Meanwhile, Tyrone Johnson conducted his own investigation on Connors, who had killed his brother years before. Having reconnected with Porter, who used to be a friend of his brother[2], Johnson discovered that he was involved in the drug dealing activity and identified Kev as one of Porter's errand boys. He attempted to follow Kev, but was quickly spotted and ordered to leave him alone.[1]

In order to know more about Brigid O'Reilly's investigation and assess whether she could find out about his involvement in the drug trafficking in New Orleans, James Connors offered her to go on patrol with her and help her to trace back the source of the drug in the city. During the drive, he and O'Reilly discussed their opinion on how drug trafficking had to be dealt with.
Suddenly, upon spotting Kev, Connors instructed O'Reilly to stop the car and pull over. They then immediately began to run after Kev, who dropped his bag behind him. However, while Connors chased Kev, O'Reilly was unable to retrieve the bag as Tyrone Johnson, who was still spying on Kev, had swiftly taken it and teleported away thanks to his Darkforce powers.
Catching up with Kev, Connors warned him that Porter had brought too much attention on himself, which endangered their whole operation, and thus ordered Kev to alert Porter. O'Reilly then arrived, causing Connors to pretend that he was beating up Kev. She then told Connors that she had not been able to find the bag dropped by Kev. Disappointed, Connors ordered Kev to leave and told O'Reilly that their cruise was over.[1]
Aftermath[]
Kev was able to track down and find Tyrone Johnson, and ordered him to give him back his bag. However, Johnson refused, and the two young men began to fight. During their fight, Johnson touched Kev and his Darkforce-based powers induced fear in Kev's mind, who ran away and told Duane Porter that he had lost his bag of drugs. Johnson brought the bag back to Porter, and asked to work for him in an attempt to reach James Connors, although Porter was reluctant to accept.
Back at the New Orleans Police Department Station, Connors told Brigid O'Reilly that Kev had provided him with intel that could lead them to the drug mastermind O'Reilly was looking for. Connors actually planned on having O'Reilly come to the Buildwell Wood Shop owned by Porter so that she could be gotten rid of, although the operation eventually failed and Porter died in O'Reilly's place.[1]
