Duel of Los Angeles/Fortified Ten Rings Base

The Duel of Los Angeles was a battle between Iron Man and Iron Monger outside of Stark Industries Headquarters.

Background[]

Tony Stark was kidnapped by the Ten Rings and managed to escape using a suit of armor. He returned home and shut down weapons productions at his company, Stark Industries, due to his discovery that the Ten Rings were using Stark Industries weapons. This surprised and frustrated Obadiah Stane as Stark built a new armor and began to hunt the Ten Rings and figure out how they got the weapons. Stark learned that the Ten Rings were being supplied by a Stark Industries employee, so he sent his assistant, Pepper Potts, to hack into Stark Industries and learn the truth.

Meanwhile, Stark chased Ten Rings operative Raza Hamidmi al-Wazar, who met up with Stane and delivered the armor that Stark used to escape. Stane used the Sonic Taser on al-Wazar, causing Stark to realize that Stane had betrayed him. He tried to call Potts, who successfully hacked into Stark Industries. However, Stane found and took Potts, causing Stark to realize that she was in danger. Stark called James Rhodes for help and flew to Los Angeles.[1]

Duel[]

Tony Stark arrived at Stark Industries Headquarters and discovered that the building was defended weapons including tanks, turrets. Stark flew down the street and destroyed all of the weapons. Stark flew out of the building and onto the street, where he was met by several weaponized helicopters which he destroyed. The helicopters planted explosives on the ground, but Stark destroyed and avoided those so that they did not detonate. Stark was fired at by several aircraft, but was able to destroy them. He returned to Stark Industries Headquarters and was met by more weapons, which he destroyed as well. Returning to the street, Stark found that there were increased defenses still and large craters in the ground.

Stane then appeared in front of Stark in the Mark I Iron Man armor, throwing large cars at him. Stark blasted and avoided the cars, firing shots at Stane himself when he could. However, Stark managed to defeat Stane, causing his armor to blow up.[1]

Aftermath[]

Tony Stark told James Rhodes what had happened. Stark assured his friends that he would not be corrupted as easily and disposed of the stolen Mark I armor and flew away.[1]
