Astro Man
- "Don't get technical!"
- —Astro Man, Mega Man & Bass database
Astro Man (アストロマン Asutoroman) is a Robot Master who debuted in Mega Man 8. His original job was to work in a planetarium to create alternative dimensions in which he could bring people in, but Dr. Wily stole him and modified him for combat. Astro Man uses his abilities to confuse his opponents and then attack them with either his two orbs levitating around him or his Special Weapon, the devastating Astro Crush. His weakness is Search Man's Homing Sniper.
Profile[]
Personality[]
Astro Man has a modest personality and is very shy. He's easily startled and is something of a coward, thus not being very reliable in battle. He is known to be the world champion at hide-and-seek and likes wishing upon stars in his spare time. He dislikes cheap humor and old gags.
Appearance[]
His body is a large round black sphere with his torso coming out of the top. His head is bright green with a black visor and glowing red eyes. He also has a spinning cup anemometer on top of his head. His armor is a bright green color. His shoulders are large, cyan colored orbs, his arms are yellow, with gauntlets that are half green and half yellow in color, and his plump, metal fingers retain the same color. His belly area is large and spherical. With the bottom half of it being a shiny black color, and the top half being a teal color with pink, rectangular lights going down it.
Game history[]
Mega Man 8[]
Astro Man is one of the four Robot Masters dispatched to protect the barrier to the "Wily Tower" and was placed in a planetarium in the northeast of Europe, possibly Norway.
Boss Guide
Astro Man is one of the second four Robot Masters. His arena takes place in a outer space background during the fight. He has two spinning orbs that can damage Mega Man if they hit him. He also can shoot star projectiles, and lastly he teleports rapidly before doing his Astro Crush. He is weak to Homing Sniper, which targets both the spinning orbs and Astro Man himself. If he is hit, it causes the orbs to fall to the ground and become temporarily harmless.
Mega Man & Bass[]
King revived Astro Man by using the data he stole from the robot museum in the Opening Stage.[1] He is one of the first three selectable Robot Masters in Mega Man & Bass, alongside Cold Man and Ground Man. He attacks with his two orbs, summons three Shururuns, and uses Copy Vision. Defeating Astro Man opens the stages of Dynamo Man, Pirate Man, and Tengu Man.
Other appearances[]
Rockman Strategy[]
Astro Man appears on the Meteorite Surface in Africa with Stone Man, both of them sent to aid Aquarius. He later appears in the chemical plant level alongside Yamato Man and Dive Man.

Trivia[]

Background of Spring Man's stage.
- There are plans for a robot similar to Astro Man displayed in the background of Spring Man's stage in Mega Man 7.[2]

- When Astro Man uses Astro Crush, the "meteors" that rain from the sky are actually fiery, green replicas of Astro Man himself.
- His quote, "Don't get technical!" may be a subtle reference to C-3PO in the movie Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In one scene on Tatooine, after R2-D2 sasses off, C-3PO replies with, "Don't get technical with me."
- Astro Man is one of four Robot Masters to give Mega Man two different weapons. The other three are Tengu Man (Tornado Hold and Tengu Blade), Centaur Man (Centaur Flash and Centaur Arrow), and Pharaoh Man (Pharaoh Shot and Pharaoh Wave).
