Halia
"A mountain village governed by House Haliaetus, the family of Leon Strohl. Not wishing to partake in the extravagant lifestyle of most nobles, Strohl's parents were modest in their governance and considerate to their people. However, when a human suddenly attacked seven years ago, the village was reduced to rubble after petitions for the State Army's aid went unanswered. Strohl's parents lost their lives saving their son and their people. Today, the village remains uninhabited, no trace of its former self remaining."

History[]
Halia is Strohl's former hometown and a desolate mountain village within the United Kingdom of Euchronia, once ruled by house Haliaetus, a family of clemar nobles and Strohl's parents. According to the Memorandum, the Haliaetus family did not participate in the extravagant lifestyles of most nobles and modestly governed over the village. However, seven years ago, it was targeted in an attack unleashed and orchestrated by Louis to raise the anxiety of the general populace for his own designs on the Royal Sceptre, the first of many similar attacks to come. The count ordered a human to destroy the village so he could slay it himself, resulting in Halia being set in flames. When the village tried to call the State Army for help, their pleas go unanswered, as Louis already regained control over parts of the State Army and a pro-Louis army captain named Klinger deliberately withheld support to further the count's plans. The village was destroyed and permanently deserted after the attack, and its lords perished to save their son and the townsfolk.
The rest of the populace, including Strohl himself, fled all the way to Grand Trad with whatever meager belongings they had following the attack, with a couple perishing in the process. Its former residents are now mostly homeless refugees regardless of their former status.
Seven years later, during the events of the game, Strohl discovers that Klinger deliberately let Halia burn to further Louis' goals when the army captain thrown him a callous remark in the Nord Mines. This results in Strohl awakening his archetype and teaming up with the protagonist and Grius and knocked him out in battle. When Strohl gets to speak with Louis personally at his soiree in Port Brilehaven, the count remorselessly admits and justifies destroying the village to bring attention to the threat humans posed, briefly enraging Strohl before he was asked to calm down by his teammates.
The protagonist visits the ruins of the village alongside Strohl during his rank 4 and rank 8 Follower Bond events. In both of these events the young clemar man would reminiscence about his past life with his captain. It cannot be visited otherwise in-game.
Trivia[]
- According to Strohl, fish are rare in Halia. When he was still alive, Strohl's father would sometimes go to Grand Trad just to buy fish and give it to his son as a souvenir.
