Denevan sun
The Denevan sun, also known as Kappa Fornacis A, was one of three stars in the Deneva system. This star was located in the Alpha Quadrant and was approximately 74 light years from Sol.
In 2267, a Denevan ship piloted by a colonist from the planet Deneva flew into this star. He was attempting to free himself from the control of the flying parasite which had infected him. His success in this endeavour provided the clue which ultimately led to the defeat of the creatures by the USS Enterprise. (TOS: "Operation -- Annihilate!")
According to Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 62) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), the Denevan sun was a G-class star.
