A hovercruiser was a type of hoverbike.
In the 2240s of the alternate reality, a police officer in Iowa used Hovercruiser 924 to chase a young James T. Kirk who had stolen his stepfather's antique Corvette. (Star Trek)
The hovercruiser was designed by John Eaves, and was built as a prop rather than digitally. [1]
The Star Trek Encyclopedia, 4th ed., vol. 1, p. 349 stated this type of vehicle was employed by the Iowa State Police and dated the incident in the movie to 2244.
On Targalus IX in 2382, Lieutenants jg Brad Boimler and Beckett Mariner commandeered a hover-cruiser to pursue a hover-van, in which Ensigns Gorm and Mackler were being abducted. The owner of the hover-cruiser was unconcerned, as she could just replicate another one. Boimler was briefly embarrassed as he had initially mounted the vehicle backward. (LD: "Shades of Green")
