Izar

Izar was an inhabited planet in the Izar system. Located in the Alpha Quadrant, this planet was remembered the most as the place where Fleet Captain Garth of Starfleet came from. It was approximately 236 light years from Sol.

He was known as "Garth of Izar" during the 2260s. While in a fit of madness and upon hearing James T. Kirk's address of him as "Garth" or "Captain Garth", he corrected Kirk, calling himself instead, "Lord Garth, formerly of Izar." (TOS: "Whom Gods Destroy"; PIC: "Disengage")

In a commercial for Tribbles cereal, Izar was shown on a computer screen of a food synthesizer in the mess hall of the USS Ravenous. It was listed along with other locations such as Earth, Vulcan, Andoria, Cestus, Tellar, Rigel VI, and Rigel X. (ST: "The Trouble with Edward", credit cookie)
