A startcard was a small object that started the engine of a motorcycle when plugged into it.
Upon deciding to leave for Starfleet Academy in 2255 of the alternate reality, James T. Kirk abandoned his motorcycle, tossing the startcard to a Riverside Shipyard worker who had admired the vehicle. (Star Trek)
