Stephanie Belding

Stephanie Belding (born 28 August 1971; age 53) is an actress who portrayed Shira in the Star Trek: Discovery third season episode "Unification III".

Belding was born in the town of Lachine, Quebec, Canada, which was later incorporated as a borough of Montréal. She graduated at the National Theatre School of Canada in Montréal and spent three years at the Shaw Festival. She has also been performing in stage productions across North America.

Parallel to her stage career, Belding has been acting in films and television since the late 1990s. She guested on television series such as Gene Roddenberry's Earth: Final Conflict, Eureka (with James Callis and Jerry Rector), Cracked (with Robert Verlaque), Rookie Blue (starring Rachael Ancheril), Dark Matter (with Roger Cross), Designated Survivor, Private Eyes, and Kim's Convenience.

She played recurring roles in Remedy, Incorporated (with Mimi Kuzyk and Saad Siddiqui), Workin' Moms (with Sadie Munroe, Dennis Andres, and Paulina Miel), Murdoch Mysteries (with Conrad Coates), and Shadowhunters (with Harry Shum, Jr. and Alan van Sprang).

She also appeared in several TV movies, including The Sons of Mistletoe (2001), Sorority Wars (2009), The Town Christmas Forgot (2010), and Christmas à La Carte (2021, with Oksana Sirju).

She also played smaller parts in movies such as David Cronenberg's Existenz (1999, starring Jude Law, with Callum Keith Rennie), After Alice (2000), Watchmen (2009, starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, with Matt Frewer, Stephen McHattie, Rob LaBelle, and Frank Novak), 50/50 (2011, with Matt Frewer), The Void (2016, starring Kenneth Welsh), and Kitty Mamas (2020, with Morgan Kohan, Helene Robbie, Ellora Patnaik, Billy MacLellan, and Zarrin Darnell-Martin).
